NOTICE: The only instructors in the Dallas / Fort Worth area who are teaching TRUE Ninjutsu, Ninpo Taijutsu or Togakure ryu Ninpo Taijutsu are Ralph Severe (started 1967, licensed as a shidoshi in 1989) and James Garcia sensei (started 1985, licensed as a shidoshi in 1990). All other people who claim to teach Ninjutsu, Ninpo Taijutsu or Togakure ryu Ninpo Taijutsu are charlatans that are deceiving the public with a fabricated martial art or teaching a collection of martial arts and calling it Ninjutsu which is no way near the TRUE Japanese Ninpo Taijutsu. For example, there are many schools that are claiming to teach "American Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu is Japanese and cannot be "American". Calling it American Ninjutsu is like claiming that Americanizing it has somehow improved upon an already wonderful and powerful martial system and is distancing the public further from real techniques (shinken) and replacing them with borrowed, bastardized, and watered down skills from who knows where. Many people believe they can just called their art Ninjutsu and fool the public. This in fact has been done many times during the Ninja Boom of the 1980's. Iga Ninjutsu is NOT a made up blend of martial arts. It is an art containing 9 distinct martial traditions or ryhua. It is a Japanese martial system of which the head teacher is Hatsumi Masaaki of Noda City Japan. If the people claiming to teach ninjutsu don't have a license from Hatsumi sensei or have lineage traced backed to Hatsumi sensei, then they are fake. Another simple test is to ask the head instructor what are the 9 ryhua of ninjutsu and an explanation of each school. If they can't answer this simple question every ninjutsu budoka should know,...then be like a ninja ~ avoid and disappear! ~ Also, if anyone mentions being a Koga ninja, do the same thing!! If anyone needs to contact Ralph Severe regarding “legit” license instructors in Ninjutsu (Togakure ryu) you may contact him by e-mail at kamiyamaninja@gmail.com.
