The skills of the warrior arts go beyond the basic striking methods.
In Ralph Severe's training, he has used meditation training to improve his awareness in life.
Meditation training is a key method to understand the skills that play such an important role in a warriors life style.
In ninpo, the warrior trains on the development of the "truth" to see beyond the "eyes" as we know it.
To the ninja it is referred to as "the mind and eyes of the god".
His favorite martial artists are Guru Dan Inosanto and Soke Hatsumi. Both are true masters of the art of living. Their philosophies have guided Mr. Severe in understanding life and the martial arts. The most important views from these two great martial artists that Mr. Severe has learned are that martial arts are for living and that your art must change every 4 to 5 years to fit your age. Below are photos of Soke Hatsumi and Mr.Inosanto. (Professor Severe has never been a student of Guru Inosanto other than seminars which Ralph began in 1982.)
